Abstract

Orthodontic Excellence Achieved with TADs, IDT and Autotransplantation

The inherent risk of failure made tooth autotransplantation an unpopular choice to replace missing teeth. However, autotransplants provides an opportunity of biological replacement of the missing tooth with normal PDL. With PDL, it makes the autotransplants different with the dental implants. The autotransplants can move under orthodontic force and it is possible to create bone. Under the contemporary understanding of biology, advancements in digital technology and enhanced standard protocol, the success rate of autotransplantation has elevated significantly. With the vision of future occlusion in mind, TADs provide reliable anchorage for the essential orthodontic tooth movement to pave the way for the autotransplantation procedure. A meticulous interdisciplinary approach further finetunes the treatment outcome. Autotransplantation plays a pivotal role in the concept of recycling orthodontics, substantially broadening the spectrum of available treatment possibilities and options for patients.
